Global Citizenship Cohort XIII Explores Peru over Winter Break

On December 29 to January 10, 2018, Lehigh’s Global Citizenship Cohort XIII (GCP) embarked on an educational adventure to Peru as a part of their faculty-led intersession trip abroad. The students traveled to Lima, Misminay, and Cusco to experience the rich culture and heritage of Peru. Many students expressed how educational and invigorating their trip was from visiting indigenous communities, museums, community service and more. Global Citizenship Retreat Provides New Connections and Reflective Discussions

IMG_20171007_154405On October 6-7, 2017, Lehigh’s Global Citizenship Program (GCP) embarked on an overnight adventure to Little Pond Arts Retreat in Nazareth, PA.  The retreat connected all of GCP’s three cohorts at a camp-like venue for two days, where participants engaged in a variety of activities. “Unconference” Provides Unusual Setting to Discuss Educational Transformation

Unconference.pngOn Wednesday, June 21st through Friday, June 23rd, Lehigh hosted the 2017 Educational Transformers Unconference, sponsored by the University and Big Beacon.  The event took place on Lehigh’s Mountaintop campus, and the CCE sent Director Sarah Stanlick and Undergraduate Fellow Katie Barr to participate.  Hoping to affect change in their home institutions, attendees came from the US, Peru, Brazil, the Netherlands, Australia, and even Singapore to discuss ways to improve their schools and themselves. CCE Director Holds “Living Our Civic Values” Conference

Patti WorkshopOn June 1-2, Lehigh University hosted “Living our civic values: Creating inclusive, democratic spaces for learning, research, and action” facilitated by Patti H. Clayton, Ph. D. and the CCE’s Director Sarah Stanlick.  Co-hosted by Lehigh University, Northampton Community College, and Moravian College through a regional mini-grant from PA Campus Compact, the event saw attendees from colleges in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia.  The conference focused on how to employ values like collaboration, curiosity, diversity, awareness, and even bucket-filling in both our personal and professional lives.
